Training and Practicing for Proper Gold Detection

Driving a car, no matter how much you read about it in books or over the internet, you can only learn it completely by proper training and practicing. Knowing what accelerator, clutch, breaks, gears, ignition system means and how it works scientifically can be a plus, but at the end, you would only want to know how to get the car going from the backyard. Using technical equipment by one’s own self especially when he or she is not a professional can be very challenging. In terms of gold detectors, each brand, as well as each model within that brand, comes with very unique setup of functions and usage patterns so it is very important to learn all those patterns in the way manufacturers intended them to use so one can get the most out of that equipment.

Why Training is important?

Training is deemed important to know your metal detector or gold detector well because it is equipment used practically. SO the aspects which emphasize on the facts and figures could be studied from the manual and over the company’s website or product descriptions. But how can a person use this equipment out in the field, it depends how well you are familiar with the equipment practicality, which is possible in training only.

How to Get Trained for your Gold Detector?

Moving on, how this training can be achieved is summarized in the four very important points below to make sure you are very familiar with how the gold detectors in general and your model specifically work.

  1. Preliminary Experimentation

The first step is recommended to find metallic pieces of various sizes as well as types from your available resources. Dig some holes of different depths in your back yard and bury those objects of different shapes and sizes inside those holes. Then note the sound of the response from the gold detector on different sizes, different depths and check the discrimination of metals in output. Do not forget to label the areas with the buried objects so you may not forget where a precious metal was buried.

  1. Field testing

After you successfully check and distinguish between different sounds and discrimination patterns, now you are able to check what the objects buried in the soil will sound like. By proper training and practice of gold detectors, you can judge the depth of the object only by listening to the intensity of the sound.

  1. Use different Soil

Soil properties have a very strong impact on gold detectors settings so you’re being familiar with one or two types of soils is not sufficient. Explore around and finds different types of soil with different mineralization properties so the user can learn to adapt the equipment to any unique settings.

  1. What if problems persist?

When testing the equipment and going in depth with the training and practice of gold detectors, many problems will arise where the users can get stuck between handling the options correctly. Many options are available to check for the solutions. First of all check the user manual, it is designed to help a new user with the problems of that specific problem. If it was not helpful, check youtube for any videos relevant to your model or type of gold detector. If both of these options are not available, then contacting the authorized distributors is the final option where they will guide you in detail.
