Minelab Equinox 600 overview

As an earlier-generation model, the Minelab Equinox 600 runs simultaneous multi-frequency Multi-IQ technology. It can also run on 5, 10 or 15 kHz alone through its 3F x 3 design. Made in Australia, it has an official warranty covering both device and coil, and the site lists it in the Medium to Good tier. The presets make it a general-purpose choice for parks, fields and beaches.

Park, Field and Beach modes come in two presets apiece, which gives six starting points. The display shows 50 discrimination segments with ferrous IDs from -9 to 0 and non-ferrous from 1 to 40. Sensitivity and volume each run to 25, a dedicated pinpoint mode is included, and a five-level depth indicator adds a clue before you dig.

The EQX11 round 11-inch Double-D coil and the whole detector are waterproof to 3 meters. Battery runtime is up to 12 hours from the internal lithium-ion pack, and the unit can be upgraded over USB from Windows or Mac. Wired 3.5mm headphones, a USB cable, a screen protector and a manual are included, while wireless headphones are optional.
